Roosevelt Stables gives guests equestrian tours of the 9,000+ acre F. D. Roosevelt State Park.
Roosevelt Stables offers three distinct guided experiences to suit your schedule and comfort level:
-
The Creek Trail (Approx. 45 mins): Perfect for families and beginners, this relaxing ride meanders alongside the creek under a cool, wooded canopy.
-
The Mountain Overlook Trail (Approx. 2 hours): The most popular choice! This scenic trek takes you along the creek and up switchbacks to the top of the mountain. You’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Pine Mountain Valley and Lake Franklin.
-
The Cowboy Trail (3 – 3.5 hours): For the adventurous spirit, this half-day journey explores every aspect of the park’s terrain, from the valley floor to the highest overlooks. (2-person minimum)
Have your own horse? The park welcomes you, too! Riders with personal horses can access the trails for a daily fee ($20 per day) or overnight primitive camping ($25 per night). Note: Proof of negative Coggins test is required.
