The Pine Mountain Trail is a hiking trail that winds through the areas of Pine Mountain and F.D. Roosevelt State Park. Hikers will enjoy this scenic trail where they can explore the many different trail routes the PMT has to offer. The trail stretches for 23 miles but features connector routes which are shorter trail options for a less intensive hike. While great for day trips, to experience the trail in it’s full glory backpacking is recommended. There are flowers blooming along the trails in the Spring which make for a beautiful view during your hike.

There are seven loops along the PMT

  • Overlook Loop: 3.4 miles
  • Mountain Creek Nature Trail: 3.2 miles
  • Longleaf Loop: 6.9 miles
  • Big Poplar Loop: 7.8 miles
  • Dowdell’s Knob Loop: 4.3 miles
  • Wolf Den Loop: 6.7 miles
  • East End Loop: 3.4 miles
